Owner Kim Rua has been providing hair services for over 36 years and began seeking out organic products about 20 years ago. The salon describes itself as vegan, cruelty free, eco friendly, organic, high quality and individualized.
Visits are by appointment only, so clients call ahead before coming in. Kim works one-on-one in a small private suite and customizes each cut, color and service. Haircuts include a wash and blow dry. Coloring costs more for hair past the shoulders because more product is used, and other finishing services may take extra time or carry an additional fee.
Many clients come to the salon because they have hair or scalp sensitivities. For past color sensitivities, a patch test is offered: a small spot of color is worn behind the ear for 24 hours. A strand test is available for overly processed hair before a color change. Color results are better on cleaner hair, since the organic color has fewer chemicals to lift oil and product buildup. The salon works with straight, wavy and curly hair, but does not take textured natural hair, perms, wedding or prom hair, fades, shaves, or children's hair.
Payment is accepted in person by cash, check, Visa, Mastercard or Zelle. Cancellations or rescheduling need 48 hours' notice, or a cancellation fee applies.
The salon focuses on organic, plant-based color and treatments, with each service customized to the client.
