Max International Beauty School is in Aurora, Colorado, and trains students for careers in hair, skin and nails. Its stated mission is education in cosmetology and related fields that prepares students for the state licensing examination and for entry-level work.
The school offers full programs in barbering (1,500 hours), cosmetology (1,500 hours), hairstyling (1,200 hours), esthetics (600 hours) and nail technology (600 hours). Students who want a single skill can take stand-alone courses instead: permanent make-up (132 hours), cosmetic resurfacing exfoliating (24 hours), microdermabrasion (14 hours), electric files (8 hours), and manicure and waxing (6 hours).
The school operates under approval and oversight from Colorado's Department of Higher Education, specifically its Division of Private Occupational Schools. According to the school, its purpose is to build students' creative ability, hands-on technique and workplace conduct so they are prepared to enter the beauty industry.
The school has a published financial hold policy for transcripts, diplomas and certificates, adopted and revised July 1, 2024, in response to Colorado HB22-1049. A transcript hold applies when a tuition balance remains unpaid six months after a student's last day of attendance, and balances over $500 may be referred to a third-party collection agency. Holds do not block registration. A transcript may still be released for job applications, transfers, financial aid, military or National Guard opportunities, or other postsecondary opportunities, with documentation. Students with an outstanding balance can arrange a payment plan through the school's email or phone line, and a written explanation is provided within seven business days if a transcript request is denied. Complaints about the policy can be sent to the Colorado Student Loan Ombudsperson.
Training is built around licensing exam readiness and practical technical skill, with attention to professional conduct.
