Training began at beauty school in 2015 and includes study at Paul Mitchell in Toledo, Ohio. Balayage and lived-in color techniques were developed from 2018, and after a move to Florida in 2021 the work continued with industry educators. The studio opened in 2023.

Color visits open with a short consultation to settle the plan, timeline and pricing. Matt looks at hair history, lifestyle and goals before suggesting a service. Balayage is hand-painted freehand and matched to each client's base color, and includes toning, a haircut and style, and a hair mask treatment. Every appointment finishes with a blowout, styling tips and a personal aftercare routine. The site describes balayage as its most requested service.

Matt also founded MBR Creative in 2018, a creative agency offering brand photography, content creation, business branding, social media assets, video and creative direction. In 2025 the hair work and the creative work were brought together under the MBR Moments brand. According to the site, a salon rebrand by MBR Creative tripled one client's Instagram engagement within 60 days and raised new bookings by 40%.

Matt starts with each client's hair history, lifestyle and goals, then recommends a service and customizes the color to the client's base.
