Marlin Skin is an independent facial studio on the first floor of 1844B Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington Center, set inside Glamour Cosmetics. Marissa Linsey created the studio and works as its owner and esthetician, drawing on more than a decade of hands-on skincare work, including years in spas before she opened her own practice. The studio's name combines her first and last names.

The studio approaches skin by blending science with intuition. Facials are not run from a fixed script; Marissa reads each client's skin at the visit, makes a skin analysis, and adjusts the treatment in the moment because skin changes over time. Clients who have no set routine or goals yet are welcome, and a pre-visit consultation, in person or virtual, can cover routine, products and concerns before any treatment is booked.

Customized facials run 30, 60 or 90 minutes. A 60-minute facial can include exfoliation, extractions, masking, massage, and LED, high frequency, ultrasonic or cooling therapy when the skin calls for it. The 30-minute Express Facial covers a deep cleanse, gentle exfoliation, hydration and finishing products. Newer clients can book the New Client Facial, which includes a consultation, skin analysis and a customized treatment.

Beyond facials, the studio offers chemical peels selected for each client's skin and goals, dermaplaning, and an Acne Alchemy program that runs for three months with treatments, personalized home care and education. Marlin Healing Facial is a 90-minute ritual that combines customized skincare, Gua Sha, crystal mapping, tuning forks, aromatherapy, LED light therapy and a card reading. Tarot readings and sound-based add-ons are also available.

Booking is by appointment only. Requests are not confirmed until Marlin Skin approves them, and a confirmation email follows. Hours are Thursday and Friday 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM; the studio is closed Monday to Wednesday and Sunday. Lexington Center has plenty of parking, including two-hour meter parking in front of the building. The studio is not wheelchair accessible: there is a step into the space, and the restroom is on the second floor.
