Marlene's Skincare Studio has been open in Maywood since April 2021 and works mainly on skincare. The menu runs from full facials and quick mini facials to body scrubs, body hair removal and makeup for events, and it includes packages and customizable gift cards.
Facials run 60 minutes and mini facials 30 minutes. Facials can be tailored to all skin types and conditions. The menu includes a Teen Acne Facial for ages 12 to 17, a Dermaplaning Facial, a Nano Infusion Facial customized to each client, and an Oncology Facial adapted for clients healing from cancer or undergoing treatment; clients interested in that facial are asked to contact the studio for details.
Body services include Fiji Sugar Glow, a sugar cane scrub with alpha hydroxy acids and a coconut oil blend, and Lay Back and Relax, a back treatment combining a chemical peel, microdermabrasion and a jade gua sha massage. Body hair removal covers areas from the eyebrow and lip to the full leg and full back. Makeup services include consultations, special occasion makeup and bridal makeup trials.
Some services take a deposit at booking, and cancellations or rescheduling need at least 24 hours' notice. Clients under 16 must come with a parent or legal guardian and sign a Minor Consent form. Late arrivals are contacted, and a service may be shortened. Gift cards and prepaid packages are non-refundable, and any issue with a service should be reported within 24 hours. Pay-over-time is offered on orders of $50 or more.
Treatments are built around each client's particular needs, with the aim that every client leaves feeling comfortable, cared for and confident in their skin.
The studio describes itself as cozy and private.
