Makeup By Tatum is run by Tatum, who owns the business and leads its bridal work. Alongside bridal makeup, Tatum takes on special event makeup and private lessons for people who want to learn to apply their own makeup. According to the business, associate artists are personally chosen by Tatum to meet the same standards.

Bridal packages are built around a bridal makeup application and a preview trial. The Essential Bride starts at $1,000 and includes applications for two additional guests with Alyssa or Breanna. The Deluxe Bridal Party starts at $1,350 and covers four additional guests, with Alyssa, Breanna, Julie or Torrie. The Exclusive Bride, which starts at $1,500 and is offered in limited availability, is the one service led by Tatum. It adds a dedicated preview, applications for two guests, a luxury lip selection (either a mini Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lip kit or a full-size MAC lipstick) and an exclusive touch-up collection. Extra applications can be added to any bridal collection for $175 per person, subject to availability.

Every bridal experience includes on-site service, a bridal preview, natural-enhancing false lashes for every application (the wedding party included), individual touch-up kits, and help with the wedding morning. The preview is usually held two to four months before the wedding and allows changes to the look. After booking, clients receive a preview questionnaire, skincare guidance and wedding morning tips, and brides receive select skincare samples at the preview. Travel within the Columbus area is included; travel farther out may carry a fee, which is disclosed before booking.

Booking starts with an inquiry and a custom proposal. A signed contract and a 25% retainer hold the date, and the remaining balance is due 30 days before the event. Bridal dates are limited and often fill nine to twelve months ahead, especially in peak season. Service counts can be raised after signing but not lowered. Sales tax applies to all services, and fees may apply for early start times, extra artists or travel beyond Columbus. If an assigned artist cannot attend because of an emergency, a qualified replacement is sought, and if none is available a refund is issued under the contract terms. Wedding-day timing is planned in advance from the ceremony time, the number of services and the getting-ready location. Bridesmaids and guests are asked to arrive with clean, moisturized skin and no makeup on. Lash extensions or lifts are generally accepted but not preferred, and should be done before the preview.

Private makeup lessons are one-on-one sessions covering complexion, balance and technique, with product recommendations tailored to the client. They begin at $250, are available by inquiry, and are offered only with Tatum. Clients are encouraged to bring their current makeup bag.

The studio works in a calm, measured way with careful attention to detail. Bridal offerings are intentionally limited, according to the business.
