Mary Hegedus founded Makeup By Mary LLC and owns the studio. She studied visual arts at the Cleveland School of the Arts, began exploring makeup in late 2016, started taking professional makeup clients in 2017, and became a licensed advanced esthetician in 2018.

The studio offers makeup in natural, soft glam, event and photo-ready styles, with named packages that include strip lashes. Brow work covers shaping, waxing, tint, hybrid dye, lamination, razor shaping and brow makeup finishing, and Ombré Powder Brows are available as machine-shaded permanent brows. Bridal makeup can be booked for the studio, or on location when eligible, with a trial option and touch-up coverage. Waxing, facials, vajacials, cluster and strip lashes, and private makeup lessons round out the menu.

Appointments are booked in advance, and online booking is open at all hours. Same-day openings may appear online when they are at least two hours away. Clients are asked to complete intake and consent forms before arriving, and to text the studio if they are running late. Arrivals have a 12-minute grace period, and cancellations or reschedules need at least 24 hours' notice. Deposits and payments are non-refundable. Guests should come alone unless they are also booked for a service, and children under 10 need approval first.

According to the studio, its founder has booked more than 2,000 appointments and worked on more than 150 bridal parties, and she reports 8 or more years of experience.

Work is done one-on-one, with attention to precision and cleanliness and a finish shaped to each client's features, preferences and lifestyle.
