About

Mad Head Spa opened in Park Ridge in March 2025. It was founded by Madalina Puscas and Delia Achim, and the business describes its aim as rethinking how people experience scalp care and relaxation. The team says it includes licensed professionals, and the practice offers personalized scalp consultations alongside its treatments.

The Sensory is the signature protocol and the business calls it its most popular experience. It combines red light therapy, meridian massage, high-frequency scalp therapy and a warm steam hair mask with ASMR-inspired sounds, textures and gentle touch, and it finishes with personalized scalp serums and a relaxing elixir. The Glow opens with a magnified look at the scalp, then moves through targeted cleansing, exfoliation, nourishing treatments, steam and massage. The Sculpt is a facial ritual built around a head spa, using micro-carbonic scalp preparation, sculpting facial massage, a peptide facial and cooling globes.

The Reset is the shortest option at 60 minutes for $160. It includes massage of the head, neck, upper chest, arms and hands, scalp cleansing, a nourishing hair mask with warm steam, and a gentle hair dry. The Sensory Detox adds a warm mineral foot bath, a collagen foot mask and foot massage to the head spa protocol, and runs 75 minutes for $250. Each package includes a rough dry, and clients who prefer can dry their own hair with the tools provided.

Scalp treatments are not recommended for clients with hair extensions, active scalp infections, open wounds, recent scalp surgery or hair transplants. Clients with a diagnosed scalp condition such as psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis are advised to see a dermatologist before booking, and those with uncontrolled high blood pressure, certain heart conditions or blood clotting disorders are advised to consult a physician. Clients whose migraines are triggered by pressure points or certain scents are advised to avoid treatments. The business recommends a scalp treatment every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on scalp condition and hair goals, and clients do not need to wash their hair beforehand. Appointments canceled or moved 24 or more hours ahead are free of charge. Later cancellations, same-day cancellations and no-shows are charged the full service amount, and rescheduling within 24 hours carries a $30 non-refundable fee. Late arrivals may have shortened treatments at the full price. Parking is complimentary in front of and around the plaza, and bookings can be made and managed through the Mad Head Spa app, where gift cards are also available.

Pairs professional scalp care with sensory relaxation, and customizes each treatment for the client's scalp type, including sensitive scalps.
