Mabel's Skin Care

Mabel's Skin Care is a studio in San Mateo founded by Mabel Rose, a licensed esthetician. Before opening the studio, Mabel spent nearly ten years at a cosmetic dermatology office in San Francisco. Every visit starts with a skin analysis and consultation before a facial is chosen. Custom facials are adapted to each client's skin and goals, such as hydration, brightening or age management. Clients can also add dermaplaning, micro or hydrodermabrasion, enzyme treatments and extractions to a new client appointment. Oncology-safe protocols are offered for sensitive or compromised skin.

Acne programs pair bi-weekly in-studio treatments with guided home routines. Chemical peels include gentle glow peels and targeted corrective treatments, and a patch test is required at least 48 hours before a peel. The signature Kaua'i Sculpt & Glow Facial, which features Leahlani Skincare, is designed to lift, firm and restore radiance. Clients receive home-care guidance after each treatment.

Clients are asked to avoid heavy exfoliation, sunburn, waxing and retinol for 72 hours before a facial, and to wait at least two weeks after Botox or filler. Appointments often book three to four weeks out, and evening and Saturday slots fill quickly. Payment is due at the time of service, and all major cards, contactless payments, Zelle and cash are accepted.
