The business began with pop-up events in shops around the state and moved most appointments to the Denville headquarters after it opened.

Each strand is woven onto a single strand of the client's own hair near the roots and stays in until that hair sheds. No glue, beads or heat are used. Adults usually keep strands three to six months on average, and some keep them longer than a year. Children about six and under typically keep them for a shorter time, and the business asks that children be able to sit still in the chair alone and give their own consent. It recommends that children under five start with five strands.

Clients are asked to arrive five to ten minutes early, and appointments cannot be split between people, so each person books their own. The business requires 24 hours' notice to cancel, which can be done from the booking confirmation email, and clients more than ten minutes late are moved to the next open slot. Changes can be made online, or by texting the business if online changes are not possible. Small groups of about 10 to 15 people can book the Denville headquarters for a flat $400, which includes 100 strands to share among guests, with the party star receiving double strands. Parties of up to 15 to 20 people are hosted at the headquarters, and events of 20 guests or more are arranged by contacting the business. Guests may bring their own food and drink, and a small fridge is available. Parties should be booked two to three months ahead, though last-minute bookings are sometimes possible. Small parties require a deposit to hold the date, with the balance due at the party.

Large events are priced hourly at $175 per hour for one fairy and $100 per hour for each additional fairy, with a two-hour minimum. Guests at these events receive two to five strands depending on crowd size, and a travel fee may be added. Gift cards are sold as a one-size-fits-all gift. The business will donate gift cards to events or pop up at them, but it does not favor traditional fundraisers. It is not currently training new fairies, though in-store work opportunities may come up.
