Visits begin with a conversation about each client's skin concerns and goals, and the treatment is customized from there. Clients are also taught about their skin and the home care routine that suits it, so they can keep up the work between appointments. Skincare treatments include facials, corrective peels and deep manual cleansing when it is needed, and are offered for concerns such as aging, acne, sensitivity and dehydration.

The salon works primarily with GLO Skin Beauty products and GLO mineral makeup, and uses Dermalogica in some skin care treatments, which are also sold on site. Ultrasonic treatments use the Derma Sound Elite system, and DermaPlane removes dead skin and fine vellus hair with an instrument and can be combined with facials, peels or ultrasonic.

Beyond skin care, Luminous offers hair removal using only Azulene hard wax, with a recommendation of at least four weeks of growth for best results, along with eyelash tinting, eyebrow tinting, lash lifts and lash extensions. Makeup services cover weddings, proms, nights out and in-salon application, and the team travels for makeup to locations within Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Maine.
