Lumière Dermatology was founded to help patients understand the health of their skin. The practice is run by Dr. Cory J. Duprey, a board-certified dermatologist who sees patients of all ages, including children, and offers both medical and surgical dermatology under one roof.
Medical dermatology covers full-body skin checks and spot checks, along with the full range of skin, hair, and nail concerns. Common conditions treated include rashes, itching, hives, eczema, acne, and psoriasis, as well as autoimmune-related skin disorders such as vitiligo, alopecia areata, lupus, and lichen planus. The practice recommends regular full-body skin exams for patients who have a history of skin cancer or who are 40 or older.
Surgical dermatology includes identifying, treating, and following up on skin cancer, with options that range from scrape-and-burn treatment and surgical excision to referral for specialized surgery or radiation. Benign moles, cysts, and lipomas can be removed, and biopsies are performed for diagnosis, including shave, punch, and complete excisional methods. Scar revision and wound repair are also offered, and surgical procedures are done in the office under local anesthesia.
A new patient requests an appointment by form or phone and starts with an initial visit with Dr. Duprey, after which a treatment plan is chosen together. Surgical patients usually arrive by referral from a primary care provider or after a medical dermatology visit, then have a pre-procedure consultation and a follow-up appointment. The office verifies insurance and discusses out-of-pocket costs before treatment, and cosmetic procedures, which insurance generally does not cover, have upfront pricing. Visits are in person; virtual consultations are not offered. Urgent concerns can be raised by calling the office, with same-day or next-day visits when medically necessary. Patients are asked to bring an insurance card, photo ID, a current medication list with dosages, and relevant medical records to the first visit.
Care is grounded in evidence and science, with an emphasis on explaining findings clearly and giving candid recommendations.
