Lulu & Lo Minneapolis Flagship

Lulu & Lo was founded by Sam French, who set out to open a salon in 2021. The Minneapolis salon is the original location, and a Tampa suite opened in 2026 inside Salon Lofts.

The salon's aim is hair that looks lived in, natural and beautiful, and the team builds its work around ongoing education. Stylists have trained with educators across the country and beyond standard extension certifications, and the colorists have trained under well-known educators in the Twin Cities.

A visit begins with a free consultation before any color or extension appointment, where the stylist talks through the client's hair, goals and what is realistic. Prospective extension clients complete an application with photos of their hair and the look they want, followed by a photo call. Extension clients can also book a complimentary phone consultation.

Extensions are hand-tied in rows on tracks, with wefts sewn in, then cut and blended with the client's own hair. The hair is 100% human and custom colored to match. The salon keeps a stocked supply of high-end extension hair on the premises, so wefts can be swapped out when needed. Most first-time extension clients spend between $1,000 and $2,000 depending on the stylist, a range that covers hand-tied extensions, color, cut and styling.

For hairstylists who want to learn the method, the salon offers one-on-one shadowing that starts with a discovery call and includes a full shadow day alongside Sam or Hannah. Shadow days are priced at $700 with Sam and $350 with Hannah, with a cosmetology student rate available, and shadowing includes 10 days of follow-up support over Voxer.

The salon works from a consultation about each client's hair and goals, then builds color and extensions that look natural and move with the client's life, supported by education across the team.
