Lua Head Spa

Lua Head Spa opened in 2023 in Westminster, near the 405 and 22 freeways and within walking distance of Westminster Mall and local restaurants. The salon describes its ritual as Japanese-inspired. Its services are built around the scalp, hair and a sense of rest, rather than around a haircut or color.

Every visit starts with a consultation. Sessions are private and personalized, and the salon says they are unhurried. Guests are seen in private treatment suites, which suit individuals, couples and small groups, and the studio hosts up to six guests at a time. Group sessions are also offered.

The five Signature Experiences build in length and in the number of steps. The shortest, Lua Refresh, combines a mini facial, scalp massage, neck and shoulder massage, a warm compress, a hair wash and a blow dry. Lua Escape adds an arm massage. Lua Elegant adds a hot stone foot massage and a hot oil hair treatment. Lua Royal adds an upper back massage. Lua Cloud 9, the longest at 120 minutes, adds extra back and foot massage, a scalp and shoulder scrub, a premium shampoo and toner, and LED light therapy.

Head spa treatments are offered for clients with short hair, buzz cuts, thinning hair or no hair. Add-ons are available. The salon says it uses premium products in its treatments. Gift cards come in amounts from $25 to $1,000 and can be used for any ritual at the studio. Parking at the studio is free.
