Every new client starts with a consultation. Clients arrive with washed, loose hair, though blown-dry, air-dried, afro or twisted hair is accepted. During the consult, the client picks the type of loc service, asks questions, looks at sample locks and lock photos, and receives a price quote. The service is then booked at that visit.
Establishment is offered in Sisterlocks, interlocks, traditional locs (by comb coil or pam roll) and microlocks. Pricing starts at a base amount for four inches of hair or less, and additional length and hair density add to the cost. Work is done over one or two full days, with the timeframe set at the consultation. Between visits, retightening and retwists for traditional locs are recommended every four to eight weeks after new growth. Retie pricing varies by the loctician's level.
