Lotus Skin Institute is an esthetics school at Cobb Galleria Parkway in Atlanta. The school says its purpose is to provide hands-on training that leads to direct employment in esthetics, and it states that it aims to produce highly qualified newly licensed professionals in the field.
Its core offering is the 1200-hour Esthetician program, which costs $9,500. It covers professional practices, sciences, body treatments, facials, make-up, hair removal, and spa and salon management, along with chemical exfoliation and microdermabrasion. Students can enroll all year round.
The school also runs a 500-hour Esthetics Instructor program for $6,000, which prepares students to teach esthetics, including advanced and medical treatments, teaching techniques with audio visual aids, and the state laws and rules that govern the profession. A 480-hour Medical Assistant program, priced at $3,250, is described as an accelerated three-month course covering clinical and administrative duties. Admission requires being 18 or older with a high school diploma, GED or an international equivalent, and students must complete a minimum of 30 venipunctures and 10 capillary sticks. Graduates are eligible to sit for the National Medical Assistant Certification Exam, and the school offers a free job placement program that helps Medical Assistant students find openings and contact employers.
A Dual High School program is available for students who are 16, enrolled in high school and maintaining a 2.5 GPA. It combines clinical classroom days, apprenticeship hours inside a spa, and job placement planning in the final months of the program.
Beyond the full programs, the school offers shorter courses for licensed professionals, including microneedling facial training, dermaplaning, PRP, chemical peel, body sculpting, laser (which leads to eligibility for a Georgia laser license), weight loss and liquid BBL training. Several of these require a current license, and equipment is sold separately for some. Coursework in CPR, medical terminology, accounting, business, marketing and advanced esthetics is also available, along with continuing education for licensed nurses.
The Student Spa is open to clients on set days and times, with services performed by students under licensed instructor supervision. Appointment times depend on student availability and can change; staff contact clients when a reschedule is needed. A valid card on file is required to book, consent forms must be completed before a booking is confirmed, and changes or no-shows made less than 24 hours ahead are charged the full service price. Coupons and vouchers still require an appointment request and are redeemed at the time of service. The school also operates a shop selling products and gear.
The school's stated purpose is hands-on training that leads to direct employment in esthetics, with ongoing student mentorships.
