The studio was founded by its owner after about 20 years of working in the spa industry. Its aim is a spa experience centered on the client's relaxation, in a quiet, private setting. The business also appears as Lotus & Lily Nails on its booking and contact pages.

Each appointment takes place in a private suite, so the client is the only guest in the room, and clients can choose the music and lighting. The studio window looks out on woods in a parklike setting. There is a patio, ample parking, several sitting areas, a coffee and juice bar, and a coffee and smoothie bar.

Manicures and pedicures range from an Essential level, meant for clients who already keep up a regular nail care routine, through Signature and Spa levels that add massage, scrubs and paraffin. Clients who need extra cuticle care or callus removal are advised to book a Signature service or higher. The Russian Manicure is a dry service with e-file cuticle work and gel polish, plus a hand and arm massage. According to the studio, its polish outgrowth looks minimal for three to four weeks, compared with one to two weeks for traditional manicures. Gel X Extensions are pre-shaped soft gel extensions that are removed and reapplied at each visit rather than filled. The studio says they can last up to three weeks with proper care and do not damage natural nails. A seasonal Champagne Pedicure and a Reflexology Meditation Pedicure, which includes guided meditation and a reflexology foot massage, round out the menu.

The studio uses OPI polish colors and does not use acrylics. It does not work with or remove acrylic or dip products, and it does not remove Gel X sets applied by other technicians. Clients who arrive during another guest's appointment are asked to wait on the green sofa in the second-floor hallway. Booking requires a credit card on file. Cancellations or reschedules made less than 24 hours ahead are charged 50% of the scheduled services, and no-shows are charged the full amount. Gift cards are available. Sunset Lane is a new street that some GPS systems may not recognize and may direct drivers to W. Armour Ave, so clients should enter from Sunset Lane, one street north of Armour.

Built around a spa-style, client-centered visit in a private setting, and the studio says its sanitation practices go beyond state requirements.
