The salon has two locations in Hurst. The salon says its mission is to support clients through the lock journey with confidence, and that it focuses on high-quality service and client satisfaction.

Every visit is by appointment only, booked through the salon's online system up to two months ahead, with each new month opening on the 5th. The salon is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays. Sisterlocks are offered as a package of four visits: a consultation, a locking session and a follow-up visit. The $50 consultation is non-refundable, and $25 of that fee goes toward installation when a deposit is paid. Locking sessions include a starter kit with starter shampoo, a tip sheet, shampooing instructions and small rubber bands.

Ongoing care covers retightening priced by session length from one hour to four hours, lock trims, lock jewelry, lock braid styles, grooming for traditional and sister or brother locks, updos and loc repair. The first few retightening visits are usually four to five weeks apart, and later visits average six to eight weeks apart. Before and after photos are taken during the lock journey, and the salon may use them on its website and social media.

Payment is taken after service, except that full payment is due before the first day of an installation. Electronic payment is preferred, and Visa, American Express, Mastercard and Discover are accepted. Cash must be the exact amount, and checks are not accepted. Cancelling on the day of an appointment carries a $65 fee, and a missed appointment without cancellation within 24 hours carries a $70 fee. Arriving 15 or more minutes late means the appointment will be rescheduled. Color service is not offered to anyone under 16, and ages 16 to 18 need a parent present with written consent. Guests and children are not allowed in the service area, and outside food and drink are not permitted.

The salon focuses on hair care and styling tailored to each client and promotes healthy hair care practices that it says support hair growth.
