Locs by Lawanda Inc. has provided Sisterlocks and Interlocks services since 2016 and works only with these two locking systems. The consultant, Lawanda, is an R-Certified Sisterlocks Consultant, and the business says it has served more than 250 clients. Contact is by phone at 904-580-4993.

A visit usually begins with a consultation. Sisterlocks consultations take about an hour and cost $75, while Interlocks consultations take about 30 minutes and cost $50. Each one covers the Sisterlocks information, a quote, the client's hair habits and whether the client is a good candidate. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10am to 5pm.

The business does installs only. Install prices are not listed online and are given by phone. After installation, maintenance is handled by a referred Certified Sisterlocks Trainee or Consultant working under ongoing mentorship. Transfer clients are not accepted and are referred elsewhere. Hair up to 8 inches is accepted for all services.

For clients who already wear Sisterlocks, a retightening class offers one-on-one instruction with all materials included for $300. A $150 enrollment fee applies and is non-refundable. Hair must have had Sisterlocks installed for at least six months, must contain no other hair locking system, and should be well maintained with no major damage. The class teaches clients to maintain their own hair between appointments; it does not teach the complete technique.

The business also teaches more advanced students: a Sisterlocks Mentorship Academy course for current trainees and consultants, and a Microlocks/Interlocks certification class for people who want to start their own business.
