Locks by Lauryn is run by hairstylist Lauryn Lee, who has worked in hair in Los Angeles for over ten years.

Color is built around each client's natural base, skin tone, grey pattern, hair history and the level of upkeep they want. Before any plan is set, the stylist thinks about how often a client realistically wants to come in, so the schedule fits their life.

Grey blending is a specialty. Rather than covering grey completely, the approach works with the natural grey pattern, using highlights, lowlights and toning for dark hair and brunettes. Because moving away from permanent color can take more than one visit, many clients go several months between larger appointments, with maintenance adjusted to each person.

Other services include blonding, from soft, lived-in shades to brighter transformations; dimensional brunette color; customized haircuts, which can be booked alone or alongside a color appointment; and keratin smoothing aimed at reducing frizz and improving manageability.

New clients are asked to send their name, photos of their current hair from the front and back, inspiration photos, a color and chemical history covering the last four to five years, and preferred days and times. Appointment inquiries are made by text message.
