Liv Studios is a company that rents its salon space to beauty professionals who run their own businesses. Rather than employing the people who work in its spaces, it provides the room, fixtures and amenities, and each renter operates independently. The company says it has more than 12,000 square feet of salon space across its locations and describes itself as the largest salon and spa concept in Utah.
Renters can choose from suites, semi-private suites, booths and chairs. Each studio comes with a stylist chair, mat, mirror and shampoo station. Private, secure rooms can be accessed at any hour, every day of the year. Rental also includes a washer and dryer, a fully equipped break room, a stylist tower cabinet, custom signage with the renter's business name, and a personalized page on the company's website.
Renters set their own hours and prices and keep everything they earn. They also choose the décor, music and feel of their own studio. The company says questions and requests are usually answered within a day.
The layout is built so a client can book several services in one day at one location, for example a haircut, a manicure and a massage. The list of trades welcomed is broad: hairdressers, barbers, wax specialists, wig and hair extension specialists, lash technicians, nail technicians, pedicurists, manicurists, nail artists, facialists, massage therapists, cosmetic injectors, tattoo artists, makeup artists, permanent makeup artists and spray tan specialists.
Locations are spread through the valley: Salt Lake City (two sites), South Jordan, West Valley, Holladay, Sandy, Midvale (on the second floor of a building on Fort Union Boulevard), Draper, Riverton (Mountain View Village), Farmington (Station Park) and Murray (the third floor of the Prohibition Building, at Fashion Place).
The company gives renters independence over their own schedules, pricing and studio style while providing the space and shared amenities.
Each studio's décor, music and ambience is chosen by the renter who works in it.
