Liquid Sunshine Airbrush Tanning

Liquid Sunshine is a spray tanning studio in Los Gatos run by its owner, Lucy Amirkhanian. The business works with airbrush application and builds each tan around the client's own skin tone, undertone and skin type rather than offering one standard shade.

A visit starts with a skin consultation. Tanners pick a custom color blend, and clients can choose between a Rapid or Traditional 8-Hour solution at the appointment. Two coats of solution are applied with a handheld airbrush gun imported from Australia, followed by a proprietary drying powder. A prep spray may be used beforehand if it is recommended. Appointments typically take around 15 minutes. Clients undress in privacy while the technician steps out, and the room is kept comfortably warm.

The studio also serves brides. Bridal tans are customized to skin tone, undertone, the dress and the glow the client wants, and the salon recommends a trial tan four to six weeks before the wedding. The salon says it has tanned thousands of Bay Area brides.
