Ahead of a Botox or filler appointment, patients are asked to stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen, Excedrin, Motrin, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, flax seed oil, fish oils, vitamins A and E, and blood thinners at least one week beforehand, unless a physician signs off on continuing them. Alcohol should be avoided for a few days before a toxin or filler treatment. The practice mentions that arnica montana and bromelain, taken by mouth or under the tongue at least three days in advance, may help lessen swelling and bruising.
