The salon was founded in 1988 in Lexington by sisters Lisa and Pam. It is named after the founders' grandparents, who ran a commercial flower farm. It occupies renovated rooms in a historic building.

After opening, the founders invited experienced stylists to join the team. Each stylist arrived with an established career and clientele, and the salon runs as a co-operative. Stylists work together and with clients during the consultation to plan a look. The team says it shares more than 75 years of combined experience, and the salon describes itself as keeping up with current techniques and trends.

The salon offers a full range of hair styling and color services, including haircuts, dimensional coloring, hair styling, permanent waves, and keratin smoothing. Color work uses Goldwell and OYA Color, and the salon has been a Goldwell Color Preferred and Recommended Salon for more than 20 years. A complimentary consultation with an individual stylist comes before services and sets the exact price.

Clients should give at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. Earlier and later appointments can be requested. Business hours are Monday through Thursday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Saturday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. A public metered parking lot is further down Muzzey Street on the left.
