Tree Braids combine cornrowing with bulk braiding hair woven in, without visible wefts or glue. The salon describes this as the most natural and undetectable weaving method available. Loc services cover starter locs and maintenance using palm roll, two-strand twist, micro technique, finger roll and comb twist, and loc coloring is offered, with instructions depending on how far the locs have grown. Hot oil treatments are meant to deep-condition dry, damaged hair.
The salon runs a Natural Hair Care Seminar covering Tree Braids, regular braids, weaves and locs, with lessons given one-on-one to each person who signs up. It describes itself as a leader in braiding and natural hair training and says it has trained thousands of braiders and natural hair care providers through videos, DVDs and hands-on instruction. Free consultations are offered Monday through Thursday, 10am to 5pm Eastern, and clients are asked to call an hour ahead. Booking a hair appointment requires a non-refundable $25 deposit, which is kept if a reschedule notice is emailed at least 48 hours ahead. Major credit cards are accepted, but personal checks are not. Refunds and exchanges are not given once services are complete, so any problem should be reported by phone within two weeks, before the hair is changed further. Hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 7pm, with Sunday appointments by special arrangement.
