Legacy Beauty Academy

Legacy Beauty Academy describes itself as a Christian-based, family-owned and operated school. It traces its origins to 1981, and the learning facility took on its current academy name in 2007.

Training is designed for students who want a career in the beauty industry. The cosmetology program runs 1000 hours and covers hair cutting, coloring, styling, chemical treatments, skin care, makeup and nail technology, and prepares students for the Texas State Board of Cosmetology licensing exam. The esthetician program is 750 hours, approved by the Texas State Board, and covers skin analysis, facial treatments, hair removal and makeup application. The nail technology course is 600 hours and covers nail anatomy, nail disorders, sanitation, nail art and enhancements such as acrylics, gels and silk wraps.

Students can attend full-time or part-time. Day classes run Tuesday to Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, and night classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 6 to 10 PM. The school says it tailors class schedules and support to each student's needs, and offers in-house financing, with consultations available by appointment.

The salon is open to the public Tuesday to Friday, 10 AM to 3 PM, and is closed Saturday through Monday. Services are performed by senior students under instructor supervision. Salon pricing is given by phone when booking, and clients age 65 and older receive a discount. The school says its staff are licensed cosmetology experts with experience, and that it volunteers at events in Tomball. It says it serves a wide area including The Woodlands, Conroe, Katy, Humble, Cypress and Bryan/College Station.
