About

The academy opened in 2016 in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. Its founder, Gaby Chavez, started by running her own lash studio while still working as a dental assistant, and later became a full-time entrepreneur in the beauty industry. Chavez named the school for the idea that lashing is a repeated practice that improves with time. The academy describes itself as Latina-owned and says it has provided education for over seven years and trained 222 graduates. It lists two licensing programs and three instructors, and says that 90% of its graduates become entrepreneurs.

The academy offers the Eyelash Extension Specialty License and the Esthetician License, along with certification programs in waxing, sugaring, Brazilian waxing, facial fundamentals, eyelash extension fundamentals, brow lamination and brow shaping. It also offers a one-shot Elleebana lash lift certification, an eyebrow tint certification, and two-day certifications in sanitation, isolation and application for licensed cosmetologists and estheticians. Continuing education is open to students at any career stage. Students are told that completing training does not guarantee income, and that an eyelash extension certificate does not replace the Eyelash Extension Specialty License. Licensed cosmetologists and estheticians can add eyelash extensions without the 320-hour eyelash course, while a one-day certificate alone does not make someone licensed in Texas.

For the student clinic, services are performed by students under the supervision of instructors and trainers. Student prices depend on experience level and any upgrades, appointments are booked for Wednesday or Thursday by phone or direct message on social media, and student services are paid in cash only. Services on the clinic menu include full lash sets for $30 to $50, lash fills for $25, lash removal for $15, lash bath for $8 and lash lift for $30. Facials range from $15 for a full face treatment to $45 for the luxurious facial, with extractions and gel masks available as add-ons for $10. Waxing runs from $10 for brow, chin or lip to $45 for full leg, and brow lamination is $30. Tuition is stated to be under $9,000, and exact course prices are available by email.

The school says it works with each student's schedule and circumstances and can change arrangements as needed. Students can take time off if it is communicated in advance, but cannot be inactive for more than 30 consecutive days. Courses must be completed in person, as online-only courses are not offered. Students must finish the required 320 hours by their contractual end date to avoid extra fees, and the academy suggests starting part-time and building up hours over time. Applicants must be at least 13 years old and enrolled in school, with a diploma or GED or a listed program and graduation year. A Social Security number is not required, as an ITIN or tax ID can be used. Graduates receive ongoing support as they work in the beauty industry. The academy also hosts events and classes at its location, accepts walk-in tours on weekdays and offers accommodations for Spanish-speaking students.

Focuses on affordable, high-quality training aimed at helping students pass their licensing exams without taking on loans, and adjusts schedules to each student's circumstances.
