The studio uses two kinds of wax. Hard wax is spread in a thicker layer, hardens into its own strip and needs no cloth, and it is made from rosin, beeswax and lanolin under the Berodin name. It is used on delicate areas such as the face, underarms, and bikini and Brazilian or Manzilian services. Soft wax goes on in a thinner layer, is warmed at a low temperature and is pulled off with cloth strips. It is used on the back, chest, legs and arms, and the studio says it suits all skin types, including very sensitive skin.
Before a body waxing visit, hair should be about 1/4 to 3/4 inch long; longer hair has to be trimmed first, or an extra fee applies for the added time. Clients who have recently shaved should wait 2 to 3 weeks. Showering beforehand is recommended, with wipes available on request. Lotions should be kept off the area, and spray tanning, sunbathing and tanning beds should be avoided for 24 hours before or after. The studio recommends PFB Topical Anesthetic, applied 30 to 45 minutes before the appointment.
A Brazilian usually takes 20 to 30 minutes and a Manzilian can take 30 to 60 minutes. Hair typically takes about 4 to 6 weeks to fully grow back, and first-time clients are encouraged to return every 4 to 5 weeks for their first three waxes. Wax sticks are never reused, so there is no double-dipping.
Matches hard wax to delicate areas and soft wax to larger body areas, and uses a fresh wax stick every time.
