About

The studio is owned and run by Jeri Lacy, who works as the stylist and wig maker. Traditional extensions are installed by braiding the client's natural hair to the scalp and sewing wefts on top of the braid. The braid-less option has no braid foundation and no glue, lays flatter than a traditional install, and the business says it can stay in for up to three months.

The extension menu also covers K-tip and infusion bonds set with a heated tool, tape-in wefts placed in sandwich bonds with natural hair, and micro link extensions applied strand by strand. Micro links need adjusting about every six weeks as hair grows. On the wig side, full lace and 360 installs include hairline customization, knot bleaching, adhesive or sewn application and a braid down. Express wig application with adhesive is available for closure, frontal and 360 or full lace wigs, with or without braids, and does not include knot bleaching, hairline customization, or a wig that is both sewn and glued down.

Custom wigs are made to order in a choice of cap construction, including 360, closure, frontal, full lace, U-part and half wigs. Custom full lace wigs take 30 to 45 days to build from the date of payment, with extra time added when custom color or a customized hairline is included. Clients can pick up a unit at the salon or have it delivered. Complimentary wig measurements are available by appointment. The studio also sells raw and mink hair, including bundles, closures and frontals.

Upkeep visits are booked only for people whose installation was completed by Lace Me by J.Lacy; anyone who had their install done elsewhere should phone the studio before scheduling. According to the salon, skipping upkeep between installs may result in hair loss or breakage. For an installation, guests need to supply a minimum of two packs of 100% human hair. The studio takes bookings five or six days a week. Paying by card adds a 3% fee, and refunds are not offered. If a service falls short, the client should raise it before leaving or within 14 days of their visit.

Extensions and wigs are offered in traditional, braid-less and glue-free forms so clients can choose how their install is secured.
