The salon doubled the size of its space in late 2017 to meet demand and add capacity. It serves clients from across Austin, and the salon says it grew 131% in its first year.

The salon is departmentalized, so each client can pick a colorist and a designer separately, and those specialists focus on their own areas and consult together. The stated goal is good value and high quality in full-service hair care, delivered in a calm, modern space. Four principles guide the team: consistent customer service, careful work with a current perspective, a professional approach and atmosphere, and a commitment to educating both stylists and clients. Education is offered throughout the year to the whole team, from apprentices to senior staff. The salon describes its services as award-winning.

Prices can change after that initial consultation at the artist's discretion, and the front desk does not give price quotes by phone or email. Online booking takes a deposit of 50% of a color service at the time of booking, with the balance due at checkout, while haircut bookings need no deposit and are charged at checkout. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice, and some services may carry a deposit or cancellation fee. Colorists ask that hair be no more than three days old, and stylists wash hair before a cut. The online menu is limited, so some specialty services are booked after a consultation. Guests can book for another person, such as a child, through the Group Appointment option.

Product lines include Kérastase as the flagship, with Shu Uemura and KEVIN.MURPHY also carried in the salon, and the online store sells Kevin Murphy, Leaf & Flower, Keune and Olivia Garden. All sales are final, though unused salon products can be exchanged for products of equal value.

The salon is open Tuesday to Friday from 9am to 7pm and Saturday from 9am to 5pm. Clients can book online or contact the salon by phone at (512) 300-0680, by text, or by email at frontdesk@laruche.salon.

Each colorist and designer focuses on a specialty, and the salon works through shared consultations so clients get a plan that fits their hair. Education for clients and staff is part of how the salon operates.
