The Royal Hammam is a steam bath ritual of about 90 minutes, starting from $185. It combines steam on heated marble, full-body exfoliation with a kessa mitt and olive oil soap bubbles, and time to relax afterward. Three longer body rituals build on the hammam: the Turkish Bath Ceremony at $160 (steam, kessa scrub, foaming massage, hyaluronic moisturizer and tea), Thousand & One Nights at $180 (steam, kessa and three-salt exfoliation, a full-body mud mask, face exfoliation and mask, scalp massage and tea), and Royal Hammam Rituals at $200 (black soap steam, kessa and three-salt exfoliation, a ghassoul rub, a face exfoliation mask, a hair treatment, scalp massage and tea).

Facials range from $120 to $195 and each begins with a short skin consultation. A specific facial can be requested when booking. The Youth Facial uses Sothys BP3 Tri-Complex, and the Oxygen Facial uses an Intraceuticals oxygen treatment with a serum containing hyaluronic acid, vitamins and antioxidants. Massage is offered in Swedish or deep tissue styles, as a 60-minute session at $110 or a 90-minute session at $165, each ending with a complimentary hot stone touch. A couples massage is available at 60 minutes for $265 or 90 minutes for $375, served with chocolate-covered strawberries and a glass of wine. Spa Experiences for two include the Royal Hammam & Massage Ritual at $300 (about 2.5 hours), Couples Escape at $375 (about 1.5 hours, with a 90-minute massage, a 90-minute customized facial, wine and a seasonal treat) and Royal Couples Retreat at $500 (a Royal Foot Soak ritual, foot mask, hot-stone leg massage, 90-minute massage, customized facial, wine and macarons). Custom group retreats for bridal parties, corporate retreats and celebrations can be arranged by inquiry.

Guests are asked to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to complete a consultation form. Visits can use private locker rooms, a steam room and sauna, and robes and slippers, with disposable combs, hair products and a blow dryer provided. A relaxation area offers fruit-infused water, tea and light snacks, and parking for guests is complimentary. Booking is by phone at (630) 746-3431, and no deposit is required. Hammam experiences should be booked at least a week ahead because availability is limited. Guests who are pregnant, have skin sensitivities or have medical conditions are asked to say so when booking. Cancellations or reschedulings need 24 hours' notice; later cancellations are charged 50% of the reserved service amount, and no-shows are charged the full amount.

Waxing needs hair at least a quarter inch long, with shaving avoided for about two to three weeks beforehand. Retinol, exfoliants and other active acids should be kept off the waxing area for at least five to seven days before the appointment. Memberships are offered, with treatment options depending on the level chosen; unused monthly treatment credit rolls over for up to 60 days, and after the first three months members may cancel with 30 days' written notice. Gift certificates can be bought in any amount or for specific services by calling the spa.
