The spa says it has more than 1,000 happy clients and a 4.9 rating on Google Reviews.

The spa runs three locations, each open every day from 10am until midnight. Visitors can drop in if a specialist is free, but reserving ahead is advised, particularly for evening and weekend visits. Appointments can be made through kukuspa.com or by calling the location you choose. Arriving roughly five minutes before your slot is suggested. If a guest is more than 15 minutes late and can't be reached, the session may be shortened to end at its original time. Requests for a male or female specialist are accepted, depending on availability. Guests keep their underwear on throughout the visit and are draped during the treatment. Gratuity is not included in listed prices; instead, it is handed directly to the specialist after each service, including services paid for with a gift card.

The menus differ by location. Muscle Therapy is offered everywhere in light, medium or firm pressure, and sessions can be short for one or two areas or longer for full-body work. Skin Renewal facials run from a quick refresh to deeper treatments. Foot Rub, which the spa calls a Kuku original, is designed for relaxation and tension relief. Lymphatic Recovery, using lighter pressure and slow, targeted movements, is available at Midtown West and Upper East Side, and Specialized Care is currently offered at Midtown West only. Warm Stone Therapy and Deep Release Cupping are included with bodywork, complimentary on weekdays with any service, or with any 60-minute service.

Couples rooms for side-by-side bodywork are available at every location, though they are limited, so booking ahead is advised. Lower East Side has individual foot rub rooms. The spa offers group private events for four or more guests at its three Manhattan locations, or as off-site visits in the greater New York City area; group requests go through the Events page or the events email address, and early booking is recommended.

Every service is meant to be unhurried and attentive, and is not rushed to fit a schedule. Bodywork is aimed at relaxation and tension relief, and is not offered as medical or prenatal treatment.
