The salon has operated since 2008. It started as a small hair salon and has grown over the years. It now runs two locations: the Greenwich Village (West Village) studio at 485 6th Ave and the Upper East Side studio at 1334 3rd Ave.

The team is organized into levels, from trainee and junior hairdresser to hair stylist and senior stylist or hair artist, with senior titles granted by the CEO and creative directors. Many junior hairdressers are graduates of the salon's one-year training program and hold a New York State Cosmetology License. The salon says every hair stylist is licensed after completing examinations, and that stylists receive weekly training on new techniques. Trainees work under a supervisor and may take longer with treatments.

Color prices depend on hair length and texture, and gloss or toner is not included in most highlight, balayage and ombre services. Shampoo is included with treatments. Some services, including double process, extensions, corrective color and fantasy color, are booked by phone because timing depends on the hair. Stylists can also visit clients at home by arrangement, with prices quoted on request.

Stylists are trained to suggest a look that suits face shape, skin tone, hair texture, personality and lifestyle, and the salon aims to create styles around each client's needs.
