Kokoro Concepts

The name is the Japanese word for heart, and the salon works from the idea that mind, body, spirit and emotion are connected. Kokoro Concepts describes its focus as beauty that starts from within, pairing hair care with well-being. Its stated mission is to support clients' well-being and hair health through empathy, knowledge and compassion.

Hair services cover balayage, base color and touch-ups, full, partial and mini foil highlights, all-over color, bleach and tone, perms, smoothing treatments, haircuts for all genders, conditioning treatments and blowouts. Most hair services include a blowout finish. Complimentary consultations are offered for hair services, and quotes are available by consultation or email. The online booking page lists some starting figures, such as balayage at $300.00 and gloss as an add-on at $45.00.

Well-being appointments are by request only. A Kokoro Assessment is a first visit with Ashley to talk through current concerns and look at what seems out of balance, and it ends with a relaxation technique and a take-home regimen. A Kokoro Session follows an assessment and may include acupressure, movement, muscle testing, herbs, oils and a customized routine. Soaks are also part of the wellness offering.

The salon asks clients to text 615-669-6834 for the quickest response, since phone calls are not answered during appointments. A detailed voicemail is also welcome.
