Knottyheadz Salon

Knottyheadz started as a salon and has since moved into larger storefronts and dedicated education spaces, growing into a brand with three divisions: the salon, a products line and the Institute. Founder Neyanna Williamson, a master loctician and licensed educator, leads all three.

The business builds its work around healthy loc care, professional education and entrepreneurship. Clients book salon appointments through GlossGenius or through an individual professional's own booking link. Specialties across the team include starter locs, microlocs, loc extensions and reattachments, wicks, loc repairs, scalp treatments and loc maintenance.

The Knottyheadz Products line includes items for loc maintenance and scalp care, which the business says were developed from real salon experience. Current listings include a daily mist, a moisture oil and a finishing spray oil.

The Institute runs a Natural Hair Program and a Master Educator Program, each 300 hours over 15 weeks, with the Master Educator Program aimed at beauty professionals. Shorter offerings include a 16-hour Braider Certification course, a 6-week Building Blocks of Business course and State Board Prep Classes of four meetings. Campus visits need confirmation from Knottyheadz and do not reserve a seat; formal applications and enrollment paperwork are completed in person.
