Knot Just Hair operates from a private suite at 292 Lake Ave in St James. Its owner, Katieann Wherry, spent 11 years at the salon next door before opening her own space, and she runs the suite as its owner and stylist.

The menu covers a wide range of hair work, from men's clipper cuts and haircuts with a blowout to single-process and highlight services, glazes, updos and smoothing treatments. Alongside hair, the suite offers temporary lashes, natural or full glam makeup, airbrush makeup, and waxing and threading for the brow, lip and chin.

Appointments are built around the client's experience and the relationship formed during the visit. Services carry minimum durations, so a longer color or highlight appointment is scheduled with time to work. Prepaid Blowout and Eyebrow Series packages let regular clients book ahead at a lower per-visit cost.

Each appointment is meant to be a comfortable visit, and the owner puts weight on the relationship she builds with each client in the chair.
