The owner previously worked in a unisex salon with mostly adult clients before moving to a salon for kids. The owner has spent about ten years working with children and has taken classes on interacting with children, including classes for children with autism and other special needs.

A visit is designed to feel relaxed for nervous kids. Children sit in child-sized chairs with safety belts and can watch kid-friendly movies or play video games during the cut. Games, bubbles and toys are on hand to help children settle in. Every child receives a complimentary styling, such as a braid or blowout, and finishes with a sucker and a sticker.

Beyond children's cuts, the salon also offers adult haircuts for men and women, along with shampoo, flat ironing, blow drying, updos, braids and small finishing services such as bang trims and edge work. A First Haircut Package includes a certificate, a hair sample and a photo of the first haircut. The salon publishes blog posts on children's hair care.
