The school offers two programs. Master Cosmetology is a 1,500-hour course covering hair, skin and nails, and it prepares students for licensure as cosmetologists. Hair Design is a 1,325-hour, full-time course focused on hair, with makeup and lash and brow tinting included. Classes start every 8 weeks, are capped at 18 students, and run Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Programs take roughly 9 to 12 months, depending on the program and attendance, since clock hours must be completed in class even after requirements are finished early. The programs are licensed by the state of Georgia, prepare students for the Georgia State Board Exam, and the school states it is accredited. Clients book the student salon online. Services are performed by students under the supervision of licensed instructors, so appointments may take longer than at a typical salon. The salon is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and services must be finished by 3 p.m. Haircuts include a shampoo and blow-dry, and add-on treatments and glazes must be added to a primary service rather than booked alone. To apply, students must be at least 17 and hold a high school diploma, GED or equivalent transcripts, along with proof of age, a driver's license or ID, and a Social Security card. Applicants also take the Wonderlic entrance exam, with a minimum score of 18, and submit a 500 to 750 word essay. Tours run Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with occasional Saturdays by appointment, and take about 45 minutes. Tuition is listed at $17,300 for Hair Design and $19,585 for Master Cosmetology, plus kit and fees, with a $500 down payment and a $50 non-refundable application fee. Federal aid, GI Bill funding and a payment plan are available to those who qualify, and students with 350 or more hair hours from an approved program may be eligible for a $1,500 scholarship. The school does not guarantee employment but helps graduates identify salons that may suit them, and it offers resume and interview training.
