The studio places the condition of clients' hair first and keeps them informed at each step of a service. Color is handled in the same spirit: color consultations are booked separately from appointments and are used to plan color in depth. The studio does not promise a set number of color sessions, since results depend on the hair.
A first-time IBE appointment requires a $500 non-refundable retainer, which is applied to the total. That total covers the extensions, customized color, a cut and styling. Clients can expect roughly $800 to $1,600 or more for the first visit and installation, and extension pricing does not include color changes to the client's own hair. Reschedules and cancellations need 72 hours' notice, or another retainer is needed to rebook.
Hair extension clients receive a written how-to care guide. The studio advises that ocean water and chlorine can shorten the life of extensions, and suggests following the care sheet whenever hair gets wet. Extension maintenance is usually needed every 6 to 10 weeks, and violet or blue shampoo is recommended for blonde hair to reduce yellowing.
