Just For You

The studio was previously known as Just For You Hair Salon and operated in Maryville for 25 years under Dee Ponkauskas, who retired in spring 2022. It moved to Suite A1 in January 2022 after its earlier building was sold, and it is now run by Dixie Speer, a licensed tattoo artist who owns and operates the business.

Tattoo work covers tiny tattoos, fine line, color, illustrative and floral pieces. Tiny tattoos cost $70 and must be 3 inches or less, linework only, with either an image or lettering but not both; lettering is limited to words or phrases under 20 characters, and names are not included. Custom tattoos are priced at $100 per hour with a $100 studio minimum. Each custom design is drawn individually, usually one to two days before the session, and is reviewed and adjusted together in person at the start of the appointment. Digital previews are not sent. The studio declines designs with dark themes, vulgarity, drug or alcohol references, skulls, gore or blood, and may refer clients to other local artists.

Permanent makeup includes permanent eyeliner at $200, lip blushing at $300, lip liner at $200, blended lip liner at $250 and faux freckles at $200. A refinement session, offered six weeks to three months after the first session, is priced at $100. Clients are advised to book three to four months ahead of vacations, weddings and special occasions, and to avoid alcohol, caffeine, aspirin and ibuprofen for 24 hours beforehand, and avoid Botox, chemical peels and retinoids for three to four weeks. Healing typically takes four to six weeks.

Tattoo appointments are reserved through an online link once a quote or consultation has taken place. Tattoo sessions are by appointment only, held Thursday to Saturday, and walk-ins are not accepted. A booking fee secures the slot and is non-refundable, but it counts toward the price of the tattoo. One reschedule is allowed, to a new date within a month, provided the change is requested at least 24 hours in advance. The fee is lost if a client doesn't attend, cancels on the day, or changes the date with under 24 hours' notice. Remaining balances for tattoos and permanent makeup are settled in cash at the visit. Hair services are offered by Carol Heatherly, and nail services are limited to existing clients, who are seen on Tuesdays and Wednesdays while the nail books are closed to new clients.

Each tattoo is designed individually, and the studio turns away certain themes and refers clients to other artists when a design is not a good fit.

The studio says it aims to be a safe, private and family-friendly environment.
