Bridal clients begin with an email reply within 12 to 24 hours, followed by an initial phone call to confirm availability. A design appointment of about 90 minutes, held Monday through Thursday, is where the look is planned, and a guest may attend. Bookings require a signed services agreement and a deposit that secures the wedding date, and the deposit can be paid on the website. The Complete Bridal Beauty Experience starts at $840 as a minimum investment and includes on-location makeup for the bride and one additional party member, airbrush foundation, faux eyelash application and lip touch-up products. Extended wedding day time is $100 an hour, subject to availability, and each additional bridal party member is $125. The artist arrives 15 to 30 minutes before the start time, and a wedding day kit with touch-up products, blotting papers, lashes and a lip product goes with the bride. Attendants can book a pre-wedding consultation for an extra charge. Travel reaches beyond Portsmouth, with a focus on weddings in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts.
Outside weddings, the studio offers makeup for fashion events, photo and video shoots, head shots, graduations, bar and bat mitzvahs, television, film and theater, and men's grooming. Lessons are customized and cost $125 an hour, and tutorials cost $120 an hour plus travel outside the Portsmouth area, held one-on-one, with a friend or in a group. Skin care prep and product advice are part of tutorials. Clients receive a monthly email newsletter and a planning timeline called the Joya Planner.
Pairs technical skill with personal input, with each client's own vision guiding the look.
