J. La. Jo. Electrology is led by owner Jill Sudweeks, who holds the LE credential, and electrologist Sarah Jane works in the Salt Lake area alongside her.

Electrolysis at the business uses a fine probe and a mild electrical current to destroy the hair follicle. It is offered for all hair colors, hair types and skin tones, so it suits a wide range of clients.

Treatment areas include the face, hairline, upper lip, chin and cheeks, as well as underarms, breasts, the happy trail, the bikini line, genitalia, toes, beards and legs. Bikini appointments are usually booked for 30 minutes, and longer when numbing cream is used.

The business runs hair removal programs for transgender clients covering facial and body hair. Feminine hair removal typically begins with facial hair and can take 12 to 24 months without hormones. For transgender men, hair removal from the forearm or thigh is described as preparation for phalloplasty surgery. Every new client starts with a consultation plus 15 minutes that covers medical history, treatment areas and a treatment plan. Before treatment, clients can buy a topical numbing cream for low pain tolerance or sensitive skin, and a list of contraindications such as pregnancy, epilepsy, diabetes and pacemakers is reviewed. Clients are asked to avoid shaving or plucking beforehand, and to avoid plucking at least 3 days before. Teeth whitening is offered in single 20-minute sessions that brighten 3 to 4 shades or double sessions that brighten 4 to 6 shades. The whitening is described as dental grade and all natural, suitable for sensitive teeth, and made in the USA.
