J Graham Studio Salon is in a suite on South Lapeer Road in Metamora. Its services are grouped into cutting and styling, a dedicated color bar, a Wash House for treatments, extensions, halos and weddings. Bookings are made online through the salon's booking service, and the on-site store sells hair care, tools, color products, extension accessories, gift cards and makeup.

Cut and style visits include a warm towel and scalp massage in the Wash House, which also offers signature hair treatments. At the color bar, shades run from icy blondes and chocolate browns to fiery reds, with playful options such as rainbow colors and hand-painted designs that blend seamlessly.

Extensions begin with a personal consultation covering hair, lifestyle, hair concerns and the look a client wants. Consultations and applications are requested through an online form, and the salon responds within two to three business days. Extension hair is colored to match the client's natural tones, highlights and dimension rather than a ready-made shade. The preferred installation is the Hidden Beaded Row, which uses no glue or tape, and other methods can be combined with it as a hybrid. For a non-permanent option, halos are kept in stock in every length and density so clients can try them on before buying; they go on and off easily and need little time and no upkeep.

For weddings, the salon provides hair and makeup for the bridal party, either in the salon or on location at the venue. The bridal suite on the wedding morning offers coffee, mimosas and a light breakfast. Wedding prices are given by phone, and hair and makeup trials are not included in the price. In-salon parties reserve the date with a $100 deposit, which can go toward day-of services or the bridal suite, and pre-pay all services three weeks before the date. On-location parties reserve with a $100 deposit applied to travel or salon costs, and each member of the party must be pre-paid four weeks in advance.

Appointments need 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel. A no-show, meaning a booking that is not attended or arrives 15 or more minutes late, is charged in full to the card on file. Changes requested on arrival may not be accommodated because each service has a set time. Hours run Tuesday through Saturday, with the salon closed on Sunday and Monday.
