Itzcali Beauty was built from the ground up by Jessy, who is the CEO and also works as a lash artist. Lash extensions are the core of the salon, with permanent jewelry, brow services, hair styling, makeup and upper lip waxing added alongside.

The salon says its goal is to empower women through lash appointments, and it also aims to support other entrepreneurs in the beauty industry. Alongside client work, it runs courses for lash artists at several levels, from a beginner course to a refresher for working artists.

A lash visit starts with a consultation about the look and eye shape the client wants. Each set is then customized to the client's preferences and natural lashes. Appointments are planned to run two to three hours, and clients are asked to arrive with clean lashes and a fresh face free of makeup, mascara, sunscreen and contacts. Refills are recommended every two to three weeks, and a full set is needed if more than three weeks have passed. Clients lie on a foam mattress during lash appointments, with a heated bed available as an option. Spanish is spoken at the salon.

Permanent jewelry is custom-fit to the client, and the two ends are welded together rather than fastened with a clasp. Clients choose and customize chains and charms, which are gold-filled or sterling silver, and real gold is available on pre-order.

Policies to know before booking: cancellations or reschedules made at least 24 hours ahead carry no penalty, and missed cancellation windows, no-call no-shows or arrivals after the 10-minute grace period incur a full service fee. Some new clients are asked for a deposit. Services and gift cards are not refundable, and extra guests and children are not allowed at appointments.

Every lash set is tailored to the individual client, and the salon also places an emphasis on supporting its own community of lash artists through training.
