Ishnae & Co.

Ishnae & Co. was started in 2010 by co-owners Renee Rivera and Ishshah Estrada. Bridal hair and makeup has been its core since then, and the team has served brides of many cultures across the country and in Mexico. Besides the two owners, ten stylists and makeup artists travel to clients for services.

The studio is in a commercial building restored from the 1920s, about two minutes from George Bush, with ample parking. Appointments are by appointment only and booked by text or email. Bridal and brow dates are usually set months ahead, sometimes up to a year. The booking coordinator replies within 24 to 48 hours of a request, while email replies can take three to five business days.

Bridal packages cover hair and makeup, including lashes. For Desi brides the team places the dupatta and helps with jewelry. The team brings its own lighting and chair; the client provides a table and any hair accessories. Guests can be added only when the bride is also booked and the team is free. Engagement ceremony hair and makeup is offered for the bride, with guests included only when she is. A Bridal Trial costs $250, is held at the studio, is booked at least three months out, and is not booked in the wedding month. Touch-ups are not offered; each bride receives a touch-up kit, and larger changes are booked as a new bridal event at the bridal rate. Products are name-brand cosmetics, sanitized before, during, between and after events, and never bought from third-party resellers.

Brow services began in April 2017 under the Ishnae Brows name. Brow tattoos are made by machine rather than microblade. Intensity is set during brow design at the Initial Session, not by technique, and design approval is sought before and after the procedure. The Initial Session takes about five to six hours and costs $850, with a $100 deposit and $750 due that day, and applies to new clients even if they had work elsewhere. A Final Session follows six to eight weeks later and takes about three to four hours. Color Boost touch-ups cost $250 per year and take about three hours, for clients who finished both sessions here. A Friend Promo rate of $750 each covers up to two people booked on different days, with deposits paid the same day. Deposits are non-refundable and paid by Zelle only.

Ishnae Ink offers fine line and custom tattoos from under one inch up to 12 inches or more. Small needles are used with only blank ink, and color is not offered at this time. Tattoo bookings run Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm. Clients agree to have their piece photographed, and black attire is requested for filming. Multiple sessions for the same person in one visit receive 10% off the total.

Bridal and brow work is shaped around each client: looks are built to suit their features, and brow intensity is decided during design rather than by the technique.
