Clients can also book hair extensions. Mermaid extension packages start at $1,295 and include the hair, application, a custom cut, a finished style, and a take-home care kit, with the extension removal included in the package price. Extensions are attached by bonding, tape-ins, or sewing, and the method is chosen after a consultation. A free 15-minute consultation with a Mermaid Hair Extension Specialist is offered before booking. Lengths are priced at 16 and 20 inches with a soft body wave, and extra-long, curly, wavy, and specialty textures are available by special order.

Prices vary by stylist level, experience, service, hair length, density, condition, corrective work, and requested upgrades, so the website prices are a guide. Booking is available online, by phone, or by text at any hour. Payment is accepted in cash or by Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express, and checks are not accepted. Extension appointments require a $100 deposit toward the service, and services of about three hours or more may require a $125 deposit applied to the final cost. Services need at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule, and extension services need 48 hours' notice. The salon also sells homecare products, specialty body care, candles, and fragrances, and offers gift cards and eGift cards.

Stylists move up through each level only after extensive education and evaluations, and the team takes part in ongoing in-salon classes and hands-on learning.
