About

Intricate Health is a women's health practice in Plano, Texas, and describes itself as an OB/GYN and medical spa serving women in Collin County. Patients are seen from adolescence through menopause for annual exams, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing wellness.

The practice says care should be individualized, since one approach does not suit every patient. Each patient receives a custom care and treatment plan, and the team educates patients on caring for their bodies with a focus on prevention. Well woman exams are annual preventive visits that include weight and vital signs, a review of the last menstrual period, cervical cancer screening, and conversation about exercise, diet, birth control options, and screening for alcohol, substance use and smoking. Teenagers and patients who are not sexually active can book one. Ongoing or complex concerns such as fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain or hormone issues need a separate visit, and discussing problem-focused concerns during a well woman exam carries an extra charge. According to the practice's FAQ and breast health guidance, Pap smears are not recommended before age 21, and are recommended every 3 years from 21 to 29. For ages 30 to 65 the FAQ lists a Pap every 3 years alone, or every 5 years with HPV testing. Clinical breast exams are part of routine checkups, and the breast health page suggests them every 1 to 3 years for average-risk women aged 25 to 39 without symptoms, then yearly from age 40. Mammography is offered to average-risk women starting at 40. Surgical options include minimally invasive hysterectomy, vaginal hysterectomy, bladder sling procedures, minimally invasive fibroid removal, laparoscopic ovarian cyst removal and laparoscopic salpingectomy. The practice says robotic assisted and laparoscopic surgery can mean less downtime, smaller incisions and faster healing. Weekend gynecology visits and aesthetic services are offered through its cash-pay sister practice, InstaGyn Women's Health and Aesthetics, and the location itself does not currently offer weekend hours. Aesthetic procedures are not booked online, and before and after photos are not posted online but can be viewed at a consultation with Dr. Gibson. The office accepts most insurance plans, and its accepted list includes several Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, Cigna PPO, UnitedHealthcare, UMR, Baylor Scott and White, Aetna and WEB-TPA. Tricare, Medicaid, Medicare, BCBS FEP, indemnity plans and Cigna HMO Connect are not accepted. Patients without insurance can use self-pay with a fee schedule, and for an unlisted plan the office can provide information for a reimbursement claim. When booking, patients should provide active insurance, member ID, group number and reason for visit, and email the front and back of their insurance card before the visit. Check-in is completed on the patient portal, patients should arrive 15 minutes early, and each patient may bring one guest. Appointments canceled or moved with less than 24 hours' notice, and no-shows, carry a $40 fee.

The practice describes individualized care built around a custom plan for each patient, patient education and a focus on prevention.
