It now runs campuses in downtown Denver, Tempe (Phoenix), downtown Provo, downtown Tucson and Avondale, the newest campus in the West Valley of the Phoenix area. The business describes itself as a cosmetology school and spa and says every campus offers the same experience.

Programs vary by campus and include cosmetology, esthiology, hairstyling, barbering, massage therapy, master esthiology and educator training. Denver's 1,500-hour cosmetology program covers hair, skin, makeup, waxing and nails, and every Denver program includes licensure preparation. Esthiology programs run 600 hours using Aveda plant-based products. Provo's 1,200-hour Master Esthiology program, offered only at that campus, covers advanced skin care and nail techniques with medical modalities. Several campuses offer day and evening classes and start dates throughout the year.

A visit is a service in a student-run salon or spa. Students work with real guests while licensed educators supervise, and only guests receiving services may be on the clinic floor. Booking requires a credit card on file. Cancellations and reschedules need at least 24 hours' notice, and late cancellations and no-shows are charged 50 percent of the booked service. Tips for students are given in cash directly to the student. Aveda gift cards cannot be used for student services at any campus. Tucson is open Monday through Thursday 9am to 8pm and Friday and Saturday 9am to 5pm, closed Sundays, and its services depend on the student schedule.

Aveda products are part of both services and training, starting on the first day of any program. Clients can take home the products used in their service, buying them in the salon or ordering them online. Students at every campus can enter competitive events such as London Fashion Week and the North American Hairstyling Awards, and can take part in study abroad; these carry extra fees. Students who meet eligibility requirements may receive help through financial aid, scholarships, grants or loans. At Provo, the school offers a Scholarship Match Guarantee, plus scholarships of $2,000 for cosmetology and $1,500 for master hair design. After graduation, Student Care Teams support graduates with job placement and networking.

Education comes first: students practice on real guests and train with Aveda plant-based and botanical products under licensed educators.
