Impression Hair Salon was established in 2000 and is led by its founder, Ryuichi, a Master Stylist. The salon works with a team of top stylists, and its primary focus is drawing out the natural beauty of each client's hair rather than a fixed look.

Each service is approached with the whole of the hair in mind: its form, silhouette, luster, elasticity and texture. The salon says it aims to give honest, responsible consultation and to keep clients' hair healthy and intact. Clients who are not sure how to reach a look they have in mind can get help planning it, along with advice on keeping their hair in good condition.

A visit is meant to feel calm, especially for clients with busy schedules. Color and cut services can include a head massage at a full flat relaxation shampoo chair. Prices are listed as starting rates, extra charges can apply for extra long or extra curly hair, and an in-person consultation is recommended for an accurate quote. Private hair services on Mondays and Tuesdays, with Ryuichi only, carry an additional $100.

Hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm on Wednesdays, 9:00am to 7:00pm on Thursdays and Fridays, 8:00am to 6:00pm on Saturdays and 8:00am to 5:00pm on Sundays. Online booking requires a 20% deposit. Cancellations, late arrivals and missed appointments with less than 48 hours notice are charged 50% of the service fee, and Airwave, Japanese hair straightening and natural keratin or Brazilian Blowout treatments need 72 hours notice to avoid a cancellation fee. Clients who have never had color or a perm are asked to take a patch test, which can be booked as a free consultation. Apart from replacing damaged products, refunds, exchanges and credits are not offered, and all sales are final.
