iLash Studio was established in 2013 in San Mateo and specializes in eyelash extensions, with head spa and scalp treatments and waxing alongside. Lisa Ho founded the studio and now leads a team of lash specialists.

Extensions are applied one at a time to individual natural lashes and never to the skin. The main sets are the Classic Natural Set ($185, 45 to 60 minutes, one extension per natural lash, about 90% coverage), the Natural Mix Set ($200, 60 to 90 minutes, an even blend of classic and volume), the Glam Mix Set ($225, 60 to 120 minutes, mostly volume with some classic) and the Full Volume Set ($250, 60 to 120 minutes, all volume from 3D to 10D fans). Full sets take between 60 and 120 minutes depending on how many lashes are applied.

Fills are priced by how many of the client's lashes remain: roughly 70 to 80% left for a 1 week fill, 50 to 70% for 2 weeks, 40 to 60% for 3 weeks and 30 to 50% for 4 weeks. If fewer than 30% remain, or more than 4 weeks have passed, the appointment is treated as a new set. Fills from another salon are priced separately, and lash removal costs $30 and uses a gel remover that breaks the adhesive bond.

Head spa visits begin with a personalized scalp analysis. Basic Refresh ($85, 45 minutes) covers a scalp cleanse, exfoliation, a clay mask, scalp and neck massage and a shampoo and conditioner. Signature Plus ($115, 65 minutes) adds a mini facial, facial steam, a hydrating mask, warm towel therapy and a finishing tonic and serum. Deluxe Plus ($130, 80 minutes) is designed for dry, oily or sensitive scalps and adds a hand steamer, scalp brushing and red light therapy. A Head Spa/Scalp Detox is also offered, listed without a price. Waxing covers eyebrows, chin, upper lip, underarms and the whole face.

Clients are asked to arrive without makeup, mascara, eyeliner or eye cream around the eyes and to remove contact lenses before the visit. Lash perms and tints should be avoided for 48 hours before an appointment. Online bookings require a credit card hold, and cancellations made less than 24 hours ahead or no-shows are charged a $50 fee. Lashes lost soon after a set can be corrected at no charge within 72 hours of the appointment, and the studio does not offer refunds. Aftercare advises avoiding oil-based products and waterproof mascara around the eyes, keeping lashes dry for the first 4 to 6 hours and allowing about 24 hours for the adhesive to fully cure.

Extensions are attached one at a time to natural lashes using the studio's own adhesive line, and fills are timed by how many lashes are left.
